‘ALCHEMY’ OPEN DAY: HOW TO SELL YOURSELF AS A SCREEN ACTOR - Sat 19 Jul |
Due to sell out previous open days, another is being offered on Saturday 19 July, 10.30-6, Central London.
The seminar/open day specifically addresses the steps any actor needs to take to get him/herself firmly established as a working screen actor from a standing start (no previous screen experience is assumed). It also gives an opportunity to meet those involved with running the acclaimed 'Alchemy of Screen Acting' workshop and how it fits in with an actor's career development. There will also be showreel screenings to demonstrate how best to impress casting directors and create a positive profile, and how bad reels can do more harm than good!
For further details of the one-day programme, see:
www.thealchemyofscreenacting.co.uk/135_Marketing_Strategy.asp
To encourage actors who are serious about achieving their full professional potential, a special low price offer of GBP 20 (inc. VAT) is being offered (full price GBP 56) to members of Actors-Inc. This includes marketing handouts, refreshments during the seminar day, plus a buffet lunch with the opportunity to network with like-minded people. 15 places only are available on a 'first come, first served' basis. The venue will be in South Kensington in Central London (SW7) and the day will last from 10.30 am to 6 pm.
If you are interested to attend, please email your acting CV (plus head shot), or Spotlight link, to Andrew Higgs, the workshop director, at: andrew@macheath.u-net.com
For details of screen credits gained by recent participants of the 5-day ‘Alchemy of Screen Acting’ workshop, see:

Amanda has been running her TV and Film workshop for the past 5 years and pioneered the idea of the one day intensive workshop for performance to camera.
Along the way she has unearthed some great talent as well as educating aspiring artists on what is required when on set. Her techniques through script and improvisation give people the opportunity to truly express themselves, experiencing both featured and background roles with equal measure.
Being a casting director and actress Amanda brings to the table a huge amount experience, from TV commercials, films, dramas and her own show presenting on SKY TV. Through her direction and knowledge you will learn; how to use voice tone, facial expression and body language. You will also be advised on how to relate to camera and get into character.
Amanda puts great emphasis on enjoyment whilst maintaining high standards. She urges people to enjoy the process of performance as opposed to focussing on the negative, the result of which is a hugely dynamic and productive group.
Amanda teaches anyone from new comers to professional theatre actors. People that have attended the workshop have gone onto background work and staring roles.
At the beginning of the workshop you are able to ask as many questions as you like regarding the industry and you are filmed throughout the day.
The cost of the workshop is £35 payable on arrival. Please respond with your contact number in order to book a place.
